To think about when the horse changes fur

Now we are approaching the period in January-February when it is time for our horses to put on their summer fur. When the horse puts on fur, the fur change takes place before the build-up of muscles and it is therefore common for the horses to lose holes and musculature just during this period. Most horses are not affected by the change of coat, but some become hungry, sensitive to the skin and unwilling to work.

Important with extra protein

Hair is made up of protein which makes it extra important to increase the horse's protein intake in order for the dog to keep holes and musculature during the fur change. A working horse that is rumored and exposed to heat and light enables a faster coat of fur. This when a horse sweating, because of its thick winter coat, concludes that the winter coat is not needed and the precipitation process is accelerated!
