When can a riding whip be good?

Riding whips can be a good tool, e.g. when you want to access the horse's hind part better, or the rider for various reasons can not use the leg. This may, for example, be due to an injury or disability of the rider, or that you simply do not reach or have sufficient power in the leg.

Riding whips are available in short and long models with different types of appearance and grip. Dressage whip / dressage whip, jumping whip and longer driving whips are a few different variants. Driving whips are usually longer and have a small rope at the end. Dressage whips and jumping whips are those used when riding, and dressage whips are the slightly longer of the two, while jumping whips are shorter.

On this page you can also find NH sticks, also called natural horsemanship sticks, stick and string, carrot sticks or contact sticks to name a few. Very good tool for example when you train loading, lunging, or trick training from the ground.


Riding whips should be used with care and must never be used as a punishment for the horse!
