Puppy Pads and Potty Pads

With a puppy pad you can train your puppy to become housetrained, or simply protect the floor from accidents both from puppies and adult dogs. If you have a bitch in heat, a puppy pad can be a good option if you want to protect floors and furniture. The pads are a kind of protection that absorbs liquid, and they can be used in the home, in the car or in the cage.

A puppy pad can be used for various things. First, it works well as an absorbent pad in the cage, or in the car. One can also use the puppy pad after the dog has bathed or when the dog comes in after a walk in the rain. If you are afraid of spills on the floor at the dog's food and water bowl, you can have a puppy pad underneath that protects against spillage. A bitch in heat can have the puppy pad in her dog bed or in other places where you want to protect textiles and floors. But above all, a puppy pad is excellent to have when training the puppy to become house trained.

The puppy pad can be introduced as soon as you get your puppy home for the first time. Place it near the puppy's sleeping area and place the puppy on the pad after eating, drinking or sleeping. Many puppies usually need to pee after they have slept for a while, or when they have been playing. It is also usually time for the puppy to poop about 15-30 minutes after a meal. When you have this information, you can be more prepared to move the puppy to the puppy pad when it is time. The puppy pad can then be moved closer and closer to the front door - and finally outside. Reward when the puppy does the right thing and never get upset if the puppy should pee outside of the pad. Getting angry with a puppy that doesn't know better won't help the situation.
