Sometimes you may need to heat or cool your horse's legs before or after training, or you may need to bandage to reduce swelling or treat a wound. Stable bandages and therapeutic wraps for horse

There are many uses for stable bandages and various therapeutic wraps for horses, and a simple stable bandage is something that should be available in all horse owners' stable pharmacies. Here at Petster we have a selection of different wraps, bandages and therapeutic wraps from well-known brands!

If your horse e.g. received a wound or is swollen in any leg, it may be a good idea to use bandages to protect the wound from dirt, or keep the swelling down.

Bandages and therapeutic protection can also be used in preventive treatment. Thermal bandages can be good for reducing pain, tension and swelling in muscles and joints, and can be used, for example, before training. Sometimes you may instead want to cool the horse's legs to protect the horse from excess heat that can damage tendons and joints, and you can then use special cooling bandages.

Keep in mind:

To heat or cool the horse's legs, you can also use liniment. However, be careful when using liniment under wraps! Wrapping wet skin or wrapping over stronger liniments can cause blistering and burns to the skin!

When you wrap the horse's legs, it is also important that you wrap correctly, and that the wraps are tight enough, without creases in the fabric. Get help from someone who knows how to wrap if you are unsure. An incorrectly wrapped leg can do more harm than good.
