Rain, fly and eczemarugs

There are a plethora of different horserugs that can be used during the year's 365 days depending on the weather and wind. Some of these rugs are rain rugs, fly rugs and eczema rugs.


Rainrugs
Rain rugs are often used year-round as in many places there will be no freezing cold winter. The rainrug is a very good rug as it is available in different models that can be combined with many different blankets in different thicknesses for the horse to be just warm. These quilts are available in different models such as without neck, with half neck or full neck. They also come in different thicknesses which are about how lined the blanket is and thus how much it heats. The good thing about the rain cover is that it can be used just as it is to protect against rain and wind as well as against the stubborn mud that most horses appreciate rolling in. But at the same time it is easy to let the interior cover sit left for extra heat on colder days.


Anti-fly rugs
Just like us humans, there are horses that are more or less sensitive to flies and insects. In the summer months when our horses go out for a longer period every day, it is important to protect the horse from irritating insects. Some horses manage with a flying spray that keeps the flies away, while other horses get stressed and may get allergic reactions from all insects that bite and are therefore in need of more protection. The horse may then need a so-called flyrug to keep flies and insects away. These rugs often have a full neck to protect the entire horse - but are also available without a neck if the horse is not as sensitive. They are often made of thin materials such as mesh that both breathes and allows air to circulate. This way, the horse can also have the flight cover during the hottest days of the summer.



Eczema-rugs
Some horses are so-called eczema horses and can be sensitive to both insects or strong sun. Depending on how sensitive the horse is, there are several different variants on eczema rugs where they can be with or without neck or stomach plate. Eczema rugs are often made of a denser material than the fly blanket is to keep even the smallest knots and the sun's strong rays away. The horses that are so-called eczema horses need special care to feel good during the summer when the insects are most active and an eczema-rug is then a must. If the horse is very sensitive, the rug can also be combined with a full cover hood for extra protection.
