How do I fasten a pet carrier bag in a car?
Safety is very important when driving with your dog. It is now illegal in Sweden to not have the dog in a secured cage or fastened with a seat belt when riding in a car.
If the dog is to be transported in a cage or transport bag in the back seat, it is important that it is properly secured. Some, but not all transport cages / bags allow it to be fastened with the car's seat belt. It is then possible on one side of the cage / bag to pass through the seat belt and then fasten it.
If this is not possible then it is recommended to use a cage in the trunk for optimum safety. If a transport cage / transport bag is unsecured in the event of a collision, or if sudden breaking occurs, the transport cage / transport bag will create danger for both the driver and the dog.
