When you have a leather saddle, it is important that you take care of it and take care of the leather. The better you take care of your saddle, the longer it will last. Leather that is not cared for will quickly become dehydrated and can then crack.
For everyday care it is sufficient to wipe the saddle from dirt and impurities with the help of a damp cloth. About 1-2 times a week, you can start by rubbing the whole saddle clean with a slightly moistened cloth and glycerine soap, and then allow the leather to dry.
When the saddle is dry you use a dry sponge and leather conditioner, also called leather grease. This is put on the entire saddle - most important are the parts on the leather that look dry, for example on the saddle flap where the stirrup strap is located. Do not lubricate with too much leather conditioner / leather grease as this can destroy the seams on the saddle and make the saddle so sticky that you can get grease stains on your riding breeches.
