First aid kit for the horse

If an accident has occurred, it is important to have a good first aid box in the stable for the horse - but what good is it to have in such a? Below are some things that can be good to have if it is the accident. Most things can be purchased at a pharmacy or from your veterinarian.

Dressings:

• Cotton on roll
• Elastic bandage
• Sterile compresses
  
• Gas bandage, 8-10 cm
• Self-adhesive bandage

Cleaning & Disinfection:

• Desinfection for humans (Hygiene is important when dealing with wounds)
• The saline / flushing liquid
• Jodopax
• Chlorhexidine (treatment of skin infections)

If there is a locked medicine cabinet:

• Needles & Syringes
• Prescription drugs

Instruments:

• Bucket
• Scissor
• Hoof pick
• Thermometer
• Disposable gloves
• A coil sprayer
• Brems
• Hose
• Plastic bags
