Equiband® Pro System

The Equiband® Pro System should only be used under the guidance of the horse's veterinarian and / or licensed therapist!


Equiband® Pro System is a unique system for training and rehabilitation of horses  - the only training system that has real support from research!

The system consists of a dressage saddle pad (not available in jump/allround model) and larger, latex-free, resistance bands that are attached to the saddle pad and run under the abdomen as well as around the buttocks. The resistance bands stimulate the horse's skin and hair follicles, which helps to activate the buttocks, back and torso muscles. The result is that the horse uses its body better and moves in a better working form. The bands can be used when lunging and long reining, as well as when riding!

The material in the elastic bands is latex-free and developed so as to not create a painful friction or allergic reactions in the horse. The material does not slide against the skin but accompanies the horse's movements, which prevents the horse from "burning"/chafing during regular use.

The system includes two different straps, a shorter strap used behind the leg at the horse's torso, and a longer one that runs behind the horse's hindquarters. The abdominal band mainly stimulates the torso muscles and thus also the back muscles. The function of the hind leg band is to make the horse aware of his hind legs, and train the coordination and muscle strength in the hind legs.

The bands are easily attached and removed with quick-release buttons directly in the included saddle pad, which can be used for both English saddles and Western saddles. You can choose whether you want to use both bands, or just one at a time!

Equiband® Pro System is used to advantage for example:

• Horses with back problems or problems with hind knees.
• Hypermobile horses that need more stability in the buttocks and back.
• Young horses, to activate the torso and hind leg muscles even before starting work under a rider.
• Horses that have not learned to use the hind leg and torso muscles to work in the correct manner.
• Icelandic horses that need support to develop a gait or collection in the tölt.

Equiband® Pro System contains:

• 2 sets of equiband (2 shorter for the abdomen and 2 for the buttocks)

Sizes
The size of the Equiband Pro System is based on the size of the included saddle pad. The rubber bands only come in one size and are adjusted to fit each individual.

Too large a size will make the abdominal band sit too far back, and too small a size will make the band sit too far forward.

The best way to determine size is by measuring the horse's height at the withers. If the horse is between two sizes, both will probably work.
If the horse has a longer back, choose a larger size. If the horse has a shorter back, choose the smaller size.

Pony: fits up to 12hh/120cm pad dimensions: 20″ spine/16″ drop
Small: Fits horses approx. 120-145 cm in height at the withers (rug size up to 125), pad size 21'' (back) x 18''.
Regular: Fits horses approx. 148-165 cm in height at the withers (rug size up to 130-145), pad size 23 '' (back) x 21 ''
Large: Fits horses over approx. 168 cm in height at the withers (rug size 150 and up), pad size 25 '' (back) x 22 ''
