Rolling Dog Leashes

Rolling dog leashes is a retractable leash which has a brake mechanism so that the dog can run on "free" line or a braked line. The advantage of this type of leash is that you or the dog do not get tangled in the leash as easily and the dog gets great freedom of movement. The most famous brand is no doubt Flexi, but it is by no means the only one.

One of the most popular leashes in the market is Flexi - and thats not so surprising. With a flexi-leash, the dog walk becomes smooth and the dog can run freely without having to pull the dog owner in all directions in a too short leash. The leash line or band is rolled up inside a "housing" with handle and pulled out bit by bit. The connector is easily pulled back and forth and the handle has a button that acts as a stop or brake. This button can be held to temporarily stop the leash, or press the button and a latch (lock) keeps the leash on a fixed length until the latch is released. This way, you do not need to hold down the button for a long time until your finger becomes tired. At the end of the rope is a hook that is hooked in the dog's collar or harness.
