The dog shoes are constructed with an insulating softshell fabric on the top for good breathability. This fabric and dog shoe sole provides weather-resistant heat in extremely cold and bad weather.
The Ruffwear-designed Vibram® Icetrek outsole provides good traction on icy and snowy surfaces and is a barrier against cold and snow-melting chemicals.
The Velcro strap that is located under the shoe's cuff / shaft is placed at the dog's narrowest part of the leg - all too good a fit. The hook-and-loop closure is located in the narrowest part of the dog's legs for a secure fit.

The dog shoe has a soft cuff with a YKK zipper that you can easily fold down when you take off or put on the shoe. The cushion also helps so that there is not a lot of snow in the shoe.
As extra help, for a perfect fit, there is one
straps with velcro closure under the cuff on the shoe.
Tighten this and when you have been out for about 15 minutes, check if you need to correct the Velcro strap so that the shoe fits well on your dog's paws. Just like you do with your own equipment.
